The unpleasant situation when you have to look for ways to open the car without a key is familiar to many motorists firsthand. It is good if at the same time the car is at home, in the garage - in this case, you can simply drill the lock using an electric drill. If you are faced with this problem far from home, you will have to make do with improvised means.
- The main rule is not to be nervous. Try to calm down and look around carefully. Looking for a stiff wire, fine knitting needle or welding electrode. If an electrode catches your eye, knock its working part against the asphalt to expose the wire.
- Now you need to go to the driver's door and carefully pull out the glass seal, which is located above the door handle (in most cases, it is enough to pull out 200-300mm of the seal). If the seal does not give way, pry it off with a thin flat screwdriver or wire.
- The wire must be bent in such a way that its ends form an angle of 90 degrees, while the length of one of its parts must be at least 10-20mm (you get an impromptu hook). The wire bent in this way should be inserted into the gap, devoid of a seal, with the hook down - while the long part of the wire should be set strictly parallel to the lock counter, and the end of the hook should be parallel to the gap and point towards the rear doors.
- The wire must be lowered down until it rests against the lock. Now you need to keep the wire at the maximum depth, move it gradually to the left - about 30mm, and then lower it down - another 30mm. Then slide the wire another 30mm to the right so you can hook the lock mechanism with your hook. Pull the wire up and the lock will open. Do not forget to replace the glass seal afterwards.
- Of course, depending on the car model, the approximate dimensions shown above may decrease or increase, so at your leisure you can practice a little to open the car without a key quickly and confidently if necessary.
- In any case, the wire that you use to open the car must be strong and withstand a force of at least seven kilograms (otherwise, in the process of opening the lock, the hook may simply straighten out, and you have to start all over again).
