Street street racers are not crazy people who don't have a parking brake and who are ready to kiss your rear bumper at a 100-meter run. Real street racers do not rush the streets of cities at night, breaking traffic rules.
Street racers have rules, the main one of which is not to create accidents. That is why in winter street street racers go to the outskirts of the city and, without bothering anyone, drive through the snowdrifts. And even in the summer, these extreme guys drive only in a certain area, however, already within the boundaries of their familiar and "well-worn" city.
As one of the street racers from Barnaul, Igor (by the way, a clergyman), says, in the summer, motorists gather more often in the central square. They drink beer (those who do not race), discuss the latest news, and drive two by two, for example, taking a running start in deserted night streets. "For 400 meters, you can more than demonstrate the power and speed of your car."
Madness without rules
As it turned out, street racing is not a specially staged show, but rather a get-together of people with common aspirations and interests. Usually at night, in the light of the moon and lanterns, a cloud of people gathers in a variety of cars - from the Russian "ninety-ninth" to the Japanese Mazda Neo. The interviewer Igor has two cars: one is a racing car, the other is for daily driving around the city (although he sometimes drives the second like crazy). On the rear windows of all cars there is a sticker with the symbols of the city's street racers club - a distinctive sign by which they can easily recognize their own.
Street racing as a hobby
The laurels of the winner of racers are awarded to the one who is the first to travel the measured hundreds of meters - usually 204 or 408 meters. But if you don’t know how to drive, it’s better to admit right away: they will teach you everything and show you everything. After all, the speeds here are "not childish" - up to 250 km / h. According to the experienced street racer Ilya, “even without competing, you can determine by the technical characteristics which car will arrive first. In the summer, victory depends on the car."
But in winter, the skill of the driver plays a significant role. Good and even very good experience is indispensable here. Indeed, on a slippery road in a ski jump, not everyone can fit into a sharp turn.
As a rule, street racing is just a hobby, not a profession. All street racers have jobs and drive most often in the same cars they compete in at night. The ranks of "road hooligans" are replenished by students, policemen, businessmen, and even, behold, clergymen. These are mainly representatives of the stronger sex. There were just one or two girls. A rare racer gets to the start. Although no one forbids it.
Street racers refuse to put guests, friends and curious people in the car, arguing that an extra centner will be added to the mass of the car. Every street racer knows that the lighter the car, the faster it goes along the road. Although it is possible that they simply care about the safety of the lives of their friends. This "game" is still somewhat more extreme than driving at high speed on some kind of track.
Street racers versus dummies, women and minibus drivers
Basically, street racers in everyday life behave humbly and law-abiding. “But only when they are not late,” the guys clarify. They are not afraid of traffic policemen, but they prefer to bypass some drivers. Street racers have three disliked driver categories:
1. "Teapots". These people get behind the wheel only when necessary. While driving, they do not think about the road, but, for example, about utility problems, and about food supplies for the summer.
2. Minibus drivers. This type does not even suspect about such a concept as "driving culture". In their opinion, it is possible to rebuild from row to row without "turn signals" or, at a speed of 90 km / h from the left lane, try to sharply rebuild, slow down and collect passengers voting on the sidelines.
3. Women. These are not monkeys with a grenade at all. However, it is not even necessary to prove that it is more important for them to tint their lips at a traffic light than to get off the spot in time.
