Instructions

Step 1

Remove the seat from the passenger compartment and place it on the table. This will make it much more convenient to plan the location of the skin fragments. Mark the garment workers with a marker. Each panel of the cover must be lifted with the name of the material from which the pattern will be made.

Step 2

Remove the seat cover. After that, rip it apart into separate pieces. It is these parts that can be replaced with leather ones. Do not forget about strengthening the material. It is best to use fabric-backed leather for upholstery. Glue the cut out leather parts onto the foam rubber using spray glue in a can. Never use a brush to spread the adhesive on the foam rubber - you can ruin the part. Glue can get into the inner structure of the foam.

Step 3

Sew together the leather parts glued to the foam rubber. Try to carefully align the marks on the edges of the parts. Turn the stitched cover onto the front side and straighten it out.

Step 4

Now all you have to do is pull and secure the cover to the seat frame. The hardest part is to pull the material over the back. The fact is that it has a closed shape. You will have to work in cramped conditions.

Step 5

To put the seat cover on, you first need to unfold it in this place and then pull it against the frame. Use plastic straps to pull in. Pass them through the pillow and through the holes. On the cover, the clamp should cling to the knitting needle, which is sheathed with fabric and sewn to the inside. Pull the edges of the cover along the contour.

Step 6

Finish the cladding by drying and steaming the parts. Warm up the covers with a stream of hot air using an ordinary hair dryer for this purpose. The skin will dry out and stretch. Steam all seats through a cloth. After such procedures, the cover will be absolutely smooth.

Step 7

Assemble the seats completely and install them on the vehicle. At this stage, the car's upholstery can be considered complete.
