The correct setting of the headlights will allow you to see the road well in the dark. To get the most out of your headlight, you need to set your headlights correctly. Headlights should also not dazzle oncoming drivers and illuminate the roadside well. Any car enthusiast at least once in his life has been replacing lamps. After replacement, be sure to adjust the headlights. In the article we will tell you how to do it best.

Instructions

Step 1

First, we do a preliminary check of the condition of the car. We check the pressure in the tires, every lamp in the headlights, glass, etc. We replace defective parts with working ones. Before you start adjusting the headlights, you need to shake the car to the sides. This is done so that the car's suspension takes on its working condition. The light width adjuster can be set to zero.

The headlights are adjusted only on the dipped beam.

Step 2

We draw the markings on the wall. You need to draw two points that will correspond to the centers of the headlights. They must be marked at the same height from the floor and at the same distance from each other as the centers of the headlights. Between them you need to draw line 1. Line 2 is drawn parallel to line 1, while 12 centimeters lower. Line 3 should be 22 centimeters below line 1.

Step 3

After that, you can start adjusting the headlights. There are two screws under the hood of the car that are for adjusting the headlights. One screw adjusts the headlights horizontally and the other vertically. The car should be parked at a distance of about ten meters from the wall. The wall must be smooth and even. We completely cover one headlamp with cardboard so that it does not shine on the wall. There will be light spots on the wall when the headlights are on. The upper border of the light spots must completely converge with line 2. The light spots from the fog lamps must converge with line 3. The point at which the horizontal and the slope intersect should be 12 and 22 centimeters below the point corresponding to the center of the headlights.
