In winter, an old or discharged battery in your car can suddenly throw up a problem, suddenly completely refusing to work. And if you need to go urgently? Then you need to learn how to "light" the battery of another car.
Necessary
- -other car;
- -wires for lighting, the so-called. "crocodiles".
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to determine exactly what the problem is in the battery. Is the engine silent when the ignition key is turned? Or does the starter still crank the crankshaft, but not fast enough? Are the electrical appliances not working, or are they barely working? Then it's just the battery.
Step 2
If your battery has a crack, especially if electrolyte oozes through this crack, then "lighting up" is already useless. You need to go to the store for a new battery.
Step 3
If your device has no mechanical damage, then find an assistant on another serviceable car and ask for a "light". Turn off all electrical appliances and ignition in your vehicle - the electrical system may be damaged from power surges.
Step 4
Have an assistant park his car as close to yours as possible. Take out the cable. Attach the red wire to the "+" terminal of your battery. It should be attached specifically to the metal "cap", and not to the plastic of the battery case. The other end of the same wire must be attached to the positive terminal of the charged battery.
Step 5
The black wire must be attached to the negative side of the charged battery. The other end must be attached to any metal unpainted part of your car - this will be the so-called "mass".
Step 6
Are all wires connected? Now let the assistant start his car and let it run for 2-3 minutes. If after that your car does not start, then turn off the ignition and let the "donor" recharge your battery again. After a maximum of 10 minutes, you will already be able to start your engine.
Step 7
Everything worked out? Remove the wires in reverse order and thank the assistant.
