An intersection is an intersection of roads where you can change the direction of travel. Several roads can intersect at one point at once, and for the correct passage on them it is necessary to distinguish between the main and secondary roads.
Instructions
Step 1
Traffic rules always very clearly define the main road and the secondary road with the help of signs. If you are on a main road, you will see a Main Road sign in front of you. If you are on a secondary road, you may see a Yield or STOP sign (no non-stop driving). And you must comply with the requirements of road signs when passing this intersection.
Step 2
If the priority sign hangs next to a traffic light, then you need to focus on traffic signals. If the traffic light does not work or constantly blinks yellow light, then in this case it is necessary to act according to the signs
Step 3
Sometimes there may be a direction sign next to the priority signs for the main road. Such a sign helps to navigate during maneuvers and turns. For example, you are driving on a main road. The direction of travel on the main road is to the right and you need to go straight. In this case, you need to stop before the exit to the intersection and skip the traffic moving on the right side according to the rules.
Step 4
If you are driving at an equivalent intersection without priority signs, then the rule of the right side applies in this situation - you must stop and let the transport next to your right pass.
Step 5
It is more difficult when there are no traffic priority signs at intersections. In this case, you need to assume that you are on a secondary road and skip all transport. If a car driving on a perpendicular road also stops to let you pass, there may be a priority sign on its side of the road. Make sure you are really allowed to pass and cross the intersection.
Step 6
There are road crossings that should always be considered secondary. These are unpaved roads, forest exits that intersect with an asphalt road. Exits from courtyards, shopping centers, small settlements are considered a secondary road.
