With the onset of the spring-summer season, motorists are faced with the task of choosing tires for a car. The safety of the driver and passengers largely depends on the quality of the tires and their compliance with road conditions in the summer.

Summer tires differ from winter ones not only in the tread pattern, but also in the quality of the material from which they are made. For the production of winter tires, rubber of softer grades is used. In the summer, such rubber will lose its properties, softening greatly in the heat, and will cease to provide normal grip of the wheels with the road. This is why it is so important to replace the rubber on time.
Step 2
Choosing a summer "shoe" for your car, pay attention to the tread pattern. The best grip is provided by an asymmetrical tire. The deeper it is, the easier it will be to drive on a wet road. In addition, grooves are often applied to summer tires that "push" water out from under the wheels when driving. The presence of such grooves is indicated by the designation "Rain" (rain), or "Aqua" (water). For dry asphalt, V-shaped tires are more suitable. However, both patterns are acceptable for summer tires.
Step 3
Be sure to check the correct tire sizes for your vehicle. This information must be contained in the technical documentation of the vehicle. Often, several standard sizes are indicated in it. In this case, when choosing tires, be guided by the rule: it is better to install narrower tires in winter, wider in summer.
Step 4
Do not deviate from the specified standard sizes, otherwise, the safety of vehicle operation will decrease. If the tire circumference differs from the standard, the speedometer readings will lose accuracy.
Step 5
Look at the sidewall of the tire to find out the speed and load index, which looks like "95T", for example. Use the table below to select the appropriate tire type. So, in our example, "95" means that the load on one tire is 690 kg, and the letter "T" indicates a maximum speed of 190 km / h. If your car is not capable of speeds above 160 km / h, do not buy expensive tires with a high speed index.
Step 6
An important feature of tires is the ability to balance them. If the rubber does not balance on serviceable rims, return it to your dealer as defective. An unbalanced tire causes wear and runout at high speeds.
