Step 1
Look at the size of the disc, which is indicated in inches. Carefully study the information in the car's service book and check whether this size is exactly the right size for your vehicle, because the size discrepancy significantly reduces traffic safety. Consult a specialist or directly at a car dealership.
Step 2
Pay attention to the width of the disc. It must match the tire that will be installed on this wheel. Please note that the rim width must be 25% less than the tire profile. Too narrow or too wide discs reduce the vehicle's maneuverability.
Step 3
When buying non-original discs, in which the size of the central hole is much larger than necessary, install special spacers - rings. They will reduce the bore to the desired value.
Step 4
It is important that the flyout of the disk, i.e. the distance from the mounting plane to the longitudinal axis of symmetry, according to your car. If the overhang is increased, then the disc will abut against the brake system. Reduced overhang is fraught with increased load on the suspension and bearings. Do not experiment with this parameter if the vehicle is new and under warranty. If a mismatch in departures is found, you will be denied warranty service.
Step 5
Look at the number of holes for the mounting bolts and their size. To fit an alloy wheel, you will need to use longer bolts or studs. Also, make sure that there is a correspondence of the mounting holes, which can be tightened to the "sphere" or to the "cone".
Step 6
After the final selection, inspect the purchased discs for surface quality. They should be free of dents, cracks and other defects. The slightest damage will lead to the fact that soon corrosion may begin to form at this place.
