To make their car look more attractive, many car owners buy additional equipment for it. One of them is a spoiler. But there is an opportunity to do it on your own.
Necessary
- - one sheet of foam plastic 1x1 m, 5 cm thick
- - 2 running meters of fiberglass
- - sheet steel 1.5 mm thick and welding
- - three cans of paint
- - two cans with primer
- - 2 kg of epoxy adhesive with hardener
- - coarse sandpaper and very fine sandpaper
Instructions
Step 1
Cut out the spoiler mount from sheet steel in the form of two plates and drill holes with a diameter of 3 mm, in 3 cm increments. Fold the resulting parts with the letter L at the base, weld two 6 mm nuts to them. Glue them into the styrofoam spoiler blade, after measuring the required length.
Step 2
Glue the resulting blank with about 3-5 layers of fiberglass, alternating with epoxy glue, at intervals of 3-5 hours.
Step 3
Apply the putty to the resulting workpiece, let it dry. Next, sand with coarse, and then fine sandpaper, removing all the irregularities.
Step 4
Finally, paint the spoiler with 3-5 coats of spray paint. Dry thoroughly after each paint application. Install the spoiler to the desired location on the vehicle.
