It can be difficult to start the car during the cold season. This can be caused by unsuitable oil, bad gasoline, weak battery, unregulated ignition. So how do you start a frozen car?
Instructions
Step 1
If you leave your car on the street or in a cold garage, then at temperatures below -25 degrees, it is advisable to take the battery home overnight. Although sometimes it can be difficult to do this. To slightly warm up the battery, briefly (15-30 seconds) turn on the dipped beam.
Step 2
Swing the gas pedal several times. Depress the clutch, turn on the ignition. If you do not hear the sound of a rotating shaft, then the battery has "sat down". If the shaft rotates but the engine does not start, return the key to neutral. Wait a couple of minutes. Turn on the ignition, press the gas pedal to the floor. Let go gradually. If the engine does not start, release the pedal slightly and hold it until it starts. Add gas gradually. In this case, the engine speed should increase. If the engine “chokes”, “swing” the gas pedal several times. After a short pause, repeat everything again. Release the clutch pedal smoothly and only after the engine has started in normal mode.
Step 3
You are sure that everything is in order (gasoline is supplied, there is a spark, the shaft spins up), but the car will not start. Possibly low-quality gasoline is to blame. Remove the air filter and pour some good gasoline directly into the carburetor. Do not use ether under any circumstances! This can lead to very sad consequences.
Step 4
Another reason is the oil thickened in the frost. Specialty fuel additives are currently commercially available for use in the carburetor and fuel system. This makes it easier to start the engine. Some car owners advise in the evening, after the engine is turned off, to pour 100 grams of gasoline into the oil. Gasoline dilutes the oil and evaporates quickly after starting the engine. Although it is always undesirable to use this method.
Step 5
Some motorists use a second battery that is kept warm at all times. Another battery is connected to the battery installed in the car with terminals. The vehicle is started, the battery is disconnected.
