A minor accident or unsuccessful parking will leave unattractive scratches on the bumper of your car. Polishing will help eliminate this nuisance and return the damaged part to its attractive appearance. This procedure does not require any special skills, so you can do it yourself.
Necessary
- - car shampoo;
- - polishing machine;
- - coarse-abrasive paste;
- - fine abrasive paste;
- - soft dry cloth;
- - means with Teflon and wax;
- - polish.
Instructions
Step 1
For convenience, remove the bumper from the vehicle before starting work. Wash it thoroughly on all sides with car shampoo. Leave to dry completely. Then, using a solvent, degrease the surface of the bumper.
Step 2
Take a polishing machine and place a rough polishing wheel on it. Apply a coarse abrasive paste to the bumper and, turning on the machine at low speed, begin to distribute it evenly over the surface. At the same time, your movements should be forward.
Step 3
Switch the clipper up to 2500 rpm and keep working. Be sure to monitor the degree of heating of the surface, as you can damage the paint layer. When finished, wipe off the remaining paste with a soft dry cloth.
Step 4
Now apply a fine abrasive paste to the bumper, and install the appropriate polishing wheel on the machine. Polish in the same way as above.
Step 5
When the procedure is over, start treating the surface with a special tool that contains Teflon and wax. It will help restore shine to the bumper and make it water-repellent.
Step 6
Place a foam pad on the polisher and apply a small amount to the bumper. Try to distribute it as evenly as possible so that no clumps remain. Turn on medium speed on the typewriter and gently process the surface.
