Step 1
Wash your car before painting. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the surface of the machine, the absence of foreign layers. Prepare the room for the varnishing process. Choose a workshop that is protected from drafts and direct sunlight. The air temperature must be at least 15 degrees Celsius.
Step 2
If the varnishing will only touch some surfaces, use an adhesive tape as a limiter. So, for example, it is necessary to cover well the tires and shock absorbers when painting the front or rear fenders.
Step 3
Remove the old coating with sandpaper. Carry out wet removal. To do this, completely saturate the sponge with soapy water and squeeze over the sanding area before sanding. Moisten the floor with water to prevent dust from settling. Select a landmark and set the boundaries of the varnish. Clean the surface of the grease with a cleaning liquid.
Step 4
Prepare an aerosol can by shaking it for 5 minutes. Take a cardboard box and use it as a test surface, as in the first portion of the varnish, metal impurities from the can can settle down. Start varnishing the surface, avoiding sagging at the edges if possible.
Step 5
Pay attention to the difference in the varnish application method depending on the area to be sprayed. If you need to varnish a large surface, move your hand in a crosswise manner. Small areas are sprayed in a spiral manner. Always move the cylinder at the same speed and avoid sudden movements.
Step 6
Apply at least 3-4 coats of varnish. Check the joints between the old and the new layer. Try to keep the timing exactly when varnishing. It is necessary to take 5-7 minute breaks so that the solvent has time to weather out. Dry the varnished surfaces thoroughly for at least 48 hours. Then polish with polish and a special swab.
