Sooner or later, any car is subject to the destructive effects of corrosion. By definition, this is a process when metal is destroyed during physical or chemical interaction with the environment. To reduce all negative consequences, motorists are trying to protect the car with anticorrosive material. For this, you can drive the car to a service, or apply a protective agent yourself.
Necessary
- - anti-corrosion agent;
- - polishing machine;
- - protective film;
- - special sponge.
Instructions
Step 1
Even if you bought a car straight off the assembly line, it still needs to be additionally treated with an anti-corrosion agent. Pay particular attention to those surfaces that are most susceptible to damage. If you do not know what these parts are, consult your dealer or any service that specializes in the corresponding repair work.
Step 2
Used machines should be processed at least 1-2 times a year.
Step 3
First, thoroughly wash the vehicle, including the underside. Experts recommend using water heated to 60-80 degrees to clean the machine. Carry out washing in three stages. Soak first. It helps to completely soak all the dust that has accumulated on the body and bottom of the car. The second stage is the application of chemicals. Their task is to finally clean the surfaces from contamination. And finally, rinsing, i.e. final washing of the car.
Step 4
Do not apply anti-corrosion agent to a dry vehicle. As a rule, it is recommended to blow the machine with a special fan for drying. And do not forget to carefully process various joints and internal seams and surfaces with it. After all, excessive moisture in hard-to-reach places is a fairly quick way to corrode parts.
Step 5
After all the preparatory procedures, be sure to carefully inspect the car. It is very important to identify all defects, cracks, scratches, chips, etc. before processing. All problem areas need to be repaired. Sand, prime and paint minor damage. If there is too deep damage, they need to be straightened, also primed and painted over. If you do not do this, the car, despite the treatment, will still be susceptible to rust spreading throughout the body.
Step 6
The underside of the car also needs to be examined very carefully. To make it easier, lift the car on a jack or put it on a pit, remove the wheels and put additional light sources under the bottom of the car. In some cases, it is preferable to put an ultraviolet lamp on for inspection.
Step 7
Do not forget to protect some parts of the car before processing - remove the wiper blades, cover the seats in the passenger compartment with foil, extend the seat belts to the full length and remove all things, incl. and a spare wheel from the trunk.
Step 8
Protect the internal parts with an anti-corrosion agent using a spray. It will be more convenient this way. And the result is guaranteed to be of better quality. The agent is applied to the body with a sponge. Then rub with a woolen circle with a polishing machine. Let the machine dry, processing is finished.
