Probably every motorist thinks that his car is better than that of the “neighbor” and that he is also better versed in many nuances regarding the “filling” of the interior. A car needs a good radio tape recorder, good speakers, and properly organized acoustics. If you have a foreign car, most likely, the audio system you have installed and its sound quality is quite satisfactory. But in domestic cars, the situation with audio acoustics is somewhat worse. You can replace an inferior regular car radio with a good one by making so-called podiums on the doors of the car, into which the speakers will be mounted.
Necessary
Plywood sheets, self-tapping screws, bars, epoxy glue, polyurethane foam, auto enamel
Instructions
Step 1
First, decide on the shape of the future podium. Prepare a cardboard template, make preliminary measurements of the attachment point. Take a sheet of plywood with a thickness of at least 10 mm and cut the base of the podium according to this shape.
Step 2
Also make the speaker fixture from plywood. It will consist of two rings, one of which should have a diameter equal to the outer diameter of the protective mesh covering the speaker, and the second - to the diameter of the column base. Glue the rings together and fasten with self-tapping screws.
Step 3
To fasten the base of the podium and the rings, make 6 bars of different lengths (2 low, medium and high). This difference in the length of the bars will affect the angle of inclination of the column, which in turn depends on your calculations.
Step 4
Glue all the manufactured parts together. The podium frame is ready. Fill it with polyurethane foam, after the foam dries, remove all excess with a knife, cover it with women's tights and coat with epoxy glue. After the epoxy has dried, putty and sand the surface.
Step 5
Make the outer trim of the podium from any material of your choice and, of course, in accordance with the material of the trim of the interior of your car. Paint with auto enamel or upholstery with carpet, leatherette, or vinyl. The choice is yours.
