Oftentimes, very little is lacking for driving pleasure - silence. Extraneous squeaks in the cabin, street sounds can distract you while driving. But all these shortcomings are easily eliminated when installing the cabin soundproofing. You will have to spend all day on this work, but then you can calmly enjoy music or conversation even at the highest speed.
Necessary
- - set of tools;
- - soundproofing kit;
- - removable key for caps;
- - knife;
- - building hair dryer;
- - active cleaner from dirt.
Instructions
Step 1
Disassemble the interior of the car. Remove door trims, headliners, floor coverings after removing the seats. Remove the battery terminal before removing the seats. The fact is that in some brands of cars airbags are built into the seats. When the seats are removed, the system (electronic control unit) can consider this as a signal for operation and an error will light up on the on-board computer display.
Step 2
Treat surfaces with a special spray to remove dirt. If not, you can wash the interior with water and detergent. All surfaces must be clean and free of grease before applying soundproofing sheets for better adhesion. After cleaning, dry the interior well with a building hair dryer. The car interior must be warm. Do noise insulation only in a dry and heated room.
Step 3
Distribute sheets of vibration and noise insulation throughout the cabin and cut out the templates. Some parts of the cabin can be cut with scraps - thresholds, for example. In order to buy the required number of soundproofing sheets, calculate in advance how many square meters of the cabin you want to finish. The fact is that soundproofing sheets are sold as a set with vibration isolation, but their number in the package may be different and depends on the specific manufacturer.
Step 4
Laying the soundproofing of the doors, from the inside, under the iron, put a vibration insulation sheet, and on the metal part - a soundproofing sheet. When laying the sheets around the cabin, first glue the vibration insulation sheet, on top of it a sound insulation sheet. All sheets are glued with adhesive tape.
Step 5
Make noise isolation of the torpedo with a cloth tape. Strengthen the elements that you glued with sheets along the edges with cloth tape. In this way, you will reduce friction between the plastic elements of the torpedo and reduce the level of various squeaks.
