Instructions

Step 1

First, install soundproofing on all Ford Focus doors. To do this, unscrew all fasteners and unfasten the so-called "bugs" on which the casing is attached using a screwdriver. To avoid damaging the paintwork, wrap the screwdriver with two layers of electrical tape. Carefully remove the trim by disconnecting the handle cable and the wires that lead to the power window. As a rule, a plastic film is glued to the door from the factory, tear it off. If there is a native soundproofing, leave it, and apply a new one on top.

Step 2

Degrease the surface with any suitable compound, and glue the outer wall of the door with vibroplast, only from the inside. Roll it on firmly, otherwise the desired effect will not be achieved, and if the car is left in the sun, it will simply come off. After that, cover the technological holes on the doors with soundproofing tape. You can cut them out and glue them separately, making a margin of 2-3 cm, or in one piece, but in this case, the doors will become too heavy. Glue all the places where the trim touches the door with soundproofing, for which cut it into strips 2-3 cm wide.

Step 3

Disassemble the interior completely, removing all finishing materials. When working, be careful not to lose fixing bolts and bugs, which will affect later during assembly. Then on the cleaned and degreased carcass, apply a layer of vibroplast by rolling it tightly to the body surface, including the floor, arches and fenders. Glue the sound insulation for the body on a sticky basis with the second layer, and the entire surface as a whole, avoiding gaps as much as possible. Check the integrity of both layers, then proceed to the reverse installation of the sheathing, seating it tightly on the soundproofing.

Step 4

When purchasing a vibroplast for noise insulation Ford Focus, get the advice of a seller, often this material for doors and a body comes with different properties.
