The garage is convenient in that it protects the car not only from bad weather conditions, but also from theft. Many car owners want to have it at their disposal, so they often build a garage on their own.
Instructions
Step 1
Mark out the future garage territory. Its internal dimensions should be approximately 5x3 m. Any passenger car can easily enter such a space. If possible, make it wider. However, a width that exceeds 4 meters is not necessary. Raise the floor level 50 cm above the ground to keep water out of the room. The base material for the garage can be brick, wood planks or concrete.
Step 2
Provide good ventilation. Pay special attention to gates, which should be about 2 meters high and at least 2.5 m wide. The doors for them should be better made in the form of a welded frame, which is sheathed with sheet metal. Remember that garage locks need to be secure enough and comfortable at the same time. Nowadays, there are quite a few locks with increased secrecy.
Step 3
Make an inspection pit inside the garage, lay out the walls and bottom with bricks or fill with concrete. Reinforce the edges with a metal corner profile, on top of which place wooden shields to cover the pit outside of working hours.
Step 4
Install a small workbench at the end of the garage, preferably made of thick planks or iron. Place a cabinet next to it, in which it will be convenient to store containers with oils, greases and brake fluid. Place the spare parts of the car, as well as the necessary working tools there.
Step 5
Make a device for evacuating the exhaust gases. To do this, take a piece of plastic pipe with a diameter of 50 mm, select the length around 2 meters. Place it on the exhaust pipe of your car before starting the engine. Attach the old tire at the rear wall of the garage at the level of the bumper. When the car touches it, apply the brake. This will prevent you from going further than the intended position.
