The rear beam stabilizer is installed on VAZ cars with front-wheel drive. This measure increases traction and reduces lateral roll. The stabilizer also helps to evenly distribute the load on the shock absorbers.

Necessary

Wrenches, screwdriver, pliers, jack or inspection hole, grinder, welding, ruler, soapy water, anti-corrosion agent

Instructions

Step 1

Purchase a stabilizer for your brand of car, as well as mounts for it and an elastic band. Stock up on the necessary tools: wrenches, screwdriver and pliers. After that, drive the car into the inspection hole or lift it with a jack and fix it on the supports. A lift is also suitable for this procedure.

Step 2

Pull out the rubber bands that are on the rings without a metal sleeve. Using a grinder, cut off the part of the ring that is connected to the bushing. Repeat the same procedure with all the other rings, which are then connected in pairs to each other and secured by welding if the new stabilizer will be doubled.

Step 3

After that, clean them from the resulting scale and apply a layer of paint. Then insert rubber bands into them. If this operation causes you difficulty, then try soaking them in soapy water first, which will facilitate the process. Remove the old stabilizer and cut about 10 cm from each end. Chamfer to fit the rubber bands. Measure the rest of the stabilizer - it should be flat.

Step 4

Cut holes about 2 cm high at the junction of the stabilizer with the side member. This measure is necessary when installing the double stabilizer so that it does not come into contact with the side members. Do not forget to treat these areas with an anti-corrosion agent. Then slide the new rubber bands over the correct places on the old stabilizer.

Step 5

Slide the matched ring onto the new stabilizer and place it on top of the old one. Make sure that the rubber bands fit exactly into the attachment eyelet. Connect the free ends of the old stabilizer to the loose rings of the new one. Look at the resulting structure from above - the two stabilizers should be clearly located one below the other. After that, fix the resulting part and test it in motion.
