Necessary

  • - devices for blocking camshafts and crankshafts;
  • - socket wrench "10";
  • - ring wrenches or socket heads "for 8";
  • - cotton gloves;
  • - new timing belt.

Instructions

Step 1

Place the machine on a level surface. Open the hood and locate the A / C compressor drive belt. Pull it off carefully and pull it out. Dismantle the generator by unscrewing all screws securing it. Remove the two bolts connecting the expansion tank housing and the car body. Carefully set the reservoir to the side. This does not require removing the hoses.

Step 2

Install a support under the bottom of the engine, having previously checked its reliability. Remove the front right suspension support. To do this, unscrew the nuts on the bracket and the bolts in the mount to the engine mudguard. Disconnect the pump pulley by removing the four bolts. Remove the engine mount bracket.

Step 3

Remove the timing belt cover. To do this, you need to unscrew the eight bolts holding it. Place the manual transmission handle in neutral. Rotate the crankshaft so that the timing marks are flush. Find the plug on the cylinder block, remove it and insert a rod into the hole to fix the crankshaft.

Step 4

Install a locking device in the grooves of the gas distribution mechanisms. Move the power handle to fourth gear and engage the parking brake. If you have an automatic transmission, move the stick to the park position. This will prevent the crankshaft from turning.

Step 5

Remove the pulley by unscrewing the mounting bolt. Unscrew the three bolts on the lower timing belt cover and remove it. Loosen the timing belt tension a little. Remove the old belt from the toothed rollers. Put on a new belt and check that it is installed correctly. Pull the rod out of the hole in the cylinder block and insert the plug. Remove the blocking devices from the timing mechanisms. Move the transmission lever back to neutral. Next, reassemble in the reverse state.

Step 6

Reassemble all parts in reverse order and start the engine.
