There are times when the standard headlights of your car are not able to qualitatively illuminate the roadway in front of a moving car, thick fog, snowfall, torrential rain can serve as causal factors, all this can lead to an emergency. To protect yourself, passengers and other motorists from a possible collision, you should think about installing additional light sources - halogen or fog lights.
Necessary
The headlights themselves, wires, a pair of fuses, a switching relay, a power button, pads for fuses and relays, a set of keys and screwdrivers, electrical tape, heat shrink tubing, pads-clips for connecting wires to an open circuit
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing to decide is, directly, with the choice of the additional headlights themselves. If there are standard mounts for headlights in the bumper of your car, without hesitation, buy them, if there are no mounts, then you have a fairly wide selection from the variety of products presented in car dealerships and markets. The main thing is to remember that a certificate of conformity to GOST must be included with the headlights. It will also be better if the headlights come with wiring, relays and fuses, otherwise you will have to buy separately.
Step 2
All components have been purchased, you can proceed with installation. Install the headlights to their regular places in the bumper, if they are not, then according to the size of the Technical Regulations "On the safety of wheeled vehicles". The next step is to carry out the wiring from the headlights. We connect one of the wires of each headlight to the mass of the car - we fasten it to the body in any convenient place. Put the other two in a plastic corrugation, stretch it along the standard wiring to the engine-salon partition, securing it with plastic clamps. Bring the wires into the passenger compartment as close as possible to the location of the fuse and relay box.
Step 3
The work under the hood is over now you can start working in the salon. Open the fuse and relay box, there may be free fuse and relay slots on it. We connect the wires from the headlights through two separate fuses, connect the outputs from the fuses into one and connect them to the output number 86 of the relay. Output No. 87 is connected to the ground of the car, and No. 85 to "+" - this can be a separate wire from the battery or "+" from the ignition switch or contact No. 85 of the dipped beam relay.
Step 4
It remains to install the headlights on button. If there are free spaces for buttons on the front panel, then remove the plug and release the front panel overlay so that you can freely wield the wires. Standard buttons have a power indicator light, the terminals responsible for turning on the indication are connected in parallel with the wiring of other buttons, we also connect in parallel a positive control contact, the second control contact output from the button, we connect to the output No. 30 of the headlamp switching relay. Everything is ready, turn on the ignition, when you press the power button, a short click will be heard - this is the relay turned on, and the headlights will light up. Put everything in place, fix the wiring in place.
