The dipped beam headlights can be adjusted both in a specialized salon (STO), and independently. Correctly adjusted headlights will illuminate well any road in the dark and will avoid accidents.

It is necessary

  • - flat horizontal platform;
  • - smooth light wall;
  • - dark paper or thick cardboard;
  • - chalk or large marker.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your vehicle completely before adjusting the low beam headlights. Fill the tank of the car, ensure the optimal pressure in the tires, check the headlight bulbs for their operability, make sure that the glasses on the headlights are intact and, if necessary, replace the defective parts.

Step 2

Then drive the car onto a large, level area with a vertical wall perpendicular to it. Place the car on the site so that its longitudinal axis is perpendicular to the wall, on which, in fact, the headlights will be adjusted.

Step 3

Next, place the car close to the wall and mark the center of the car and the center axes of each headlight on it. Then position the car so that the distance from the headlights to the wall is 5 meters. On the wall with chalk or a marker, draw a clearly visible horizontal line that will connect the center points of the headlights. Draw short vertical lines through these center points. As a result, you should have two crosses. Below the original horizontal line at 7.62 cm, draw a second line parallel to the first.

Step 4

Turn on the low beam. Cover the headlamps alternately with cardboard and tighten the adjusting screws until you achieve the ideal standard light beam on the wall. The headlight adjustment screws are located under the hood of the vehicle. To adjust the headlights in some car models, you need to rotate the gears with a special wrench or screwdriver.
