Instructions

Step 1

Find a flat surface of about 10 meters, at the end of which there is a flat vertical wall. Stock up on adhesive tape or regular chalk to mark the screen. Before starting the check, measure the pressure in the tires and bring it to the desired level, and also check the bulbs in the headlights for damage. Replace if defective. After driving as close to the wall as possible, carefully apply the center of the car and the center axes of each lamp to it.

Step 2

After that, drive the car to a distance of about 7-8 meters and draw a horizontal line on the wall, which will connect the points of the centers of the lamps. Also draw straight vertical lines across the center point of the car and the centers of the lamps. Then measure 7.6 cm down from the line connecting the lamps and make an additional straight line at this level.

Step 3

Sit in the car and turn on the low beam. It is best if there is another passenger in the car next to you to make the conditions as realistic as possible. You will see two beams of light on the screen you marked up. With the correct headlamp alignment, the light spots should be located directly below the additional line you drew last, and lie on the vertical center lines of the headlights.

Step 4

If the light beams are in other places, then tighten the headlight adjustment screws. To do this, raise the hood and find these screws on the back of the headlights. Twist them carefully in the desired direction to achieve the desired image on the screen. Having adjusted the low beam in this way, you do not need to worry about the high beam - it will adjust automatically.

Step 5

Now you can safely drive on night roads, your headlights are set correctly. Remember that it is not possible to achieve the ideal headlight setting on your own. This requires special equipment that is used in car services.
