Fog lights can be installed elegantly and freely on Toyota only if they are original. In addition, some dexterity and at least initial experience in car repair is required from the installer.

Necessary

  • - Toyota 90080-87013 relay;
  • - two front bumper plugs;
  • - two Toyota fog lights;
  • - steering column switch Toyota

Instructions

Step 1

When installing fog lights, remember the basic principle of their installation - they should be installed as low as possible. Most non-original fog lamps are designed for vertical installation, so that their level is almost equal to the main headlamps. The original fog lights are designed for suspended installation in the standard niches on the front bumper.

Step 2

If the purchased fog lights are not equipped with bulbs initially, open their housing and screw the bulb into the socket by pulling out the plug. Install the headlights themselves in the standard niches in the front bumper, securing each of them on the back with two self-tapping screws. Then install new plugs designed to be installed together with fog lights.

Step 3

Install the relay in the diagnostic socket located above the glove compartment in front of the cabin air filter. The housing, inside which the shoe is installed, has a plastic cover at the bottom. Remove it so that it is convenient to see the installation location of the relay. Of the three connectors on this relay strip, install in the middle one.

Step 4

Remove the lower section of the steering column trim to expose the left steering column switch connector. To remove the cover, unscrew the screw at the bottom and the two screws at the end of the speaker. Cut the switch itself into the dismantled lining. Connect the wires from the switch to the red wire with a blue stripe and to the green wire. In this case, the fog lights will turn on only when the dimensions or dipped beam are on, and turn off automatically when the side lights are turned off.

Step 5

Insulate all wires, secure and reinstall the steering column trim. Since the circuit to which the headlights were connected is protected by a standard fuse, there is no need to install an additional one.
