A dented front fender is not yet the biggest misfortune that awaits a motorist. However, body repair is considered one of the most expensive, even when it comes to a budget domestic car. First, you need to determine the condition of the front wing. In case of minor damage (small scratches, dents, etc.), it is not necessary to remove the wing. It is enough to carry out straightening and painting work. In case of significant deformation of the wing, if there are breaks, the wing should be replaced.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to remove the front fender from a VAZ 2108/2109/21099 car, you need to do the following. Remove the turn signal from the fender and then remove the 2 bolts from the rear fender mount.
Step 2
After that, unscrew the bolt of the lower fastening of the front fender. Remove the front bumper from the car and then remove the front fender mounting bolt. Tip: The front bumper does not have to be completely removed to access this bolt. You can simply unscrew the two side bumper mounting nuts and bend the end of the bumper.
Step 3
Then open the hood and remove the four upper mounting bolts. Then remove the front fender from the car. Clean the mating body parts with the wing. Install a new front fender after replacing the upper and lower spacers.
Step 4
Before tightening the mounting bolts, adjust the clearance between the door, hood and other protruding parts. After finishing the installation of the front fender, you need to cover the joint between the mudguard and the fender with a sealant to avoid moisture and dirt.
Step 5
To remove the front fender of the LADA 2110 car, you will need a “10” spanner wrench. Remove the wire from the terminal with the "-" sign from the battery. Then remove the wheel arch liner and the false sill.
Step 6
Move the side turn signal towards the front of the car and remove it from the fender hole. Remove the bulb holder from the side turn signal housing, and then push it in through the hole in the fender.
Step 7
Unscrew the side bumper mounting bolt from the bottom on the desired side. From the bottom of the machine, loosen the nuts securing the crankcase guard to the bumper. Remove the radiator grill and then loosen the front bumper mounting bolts.
Step 8
Slide the desired side of the bumper forward so you can access the mount. Next, unscrew the lower wing mounting bolt. Unscrew the rear wing mounting bolts through the wheel well. Then unscrew the four bolts under the hood and remove the old front fender.
Step 9
Align the wing over the protrusion and clearances with the rest of the body before finally tightening the mounting bolts. After you have installed a new fender, apply an anti-corrosion coating to the inside of the fender.
