The number of cars on the roads is growing steadily, which means that the number of people getting a license is also increasing. It used to be a common situation when fathers taught their children to drive almost from the cradle. All this happened in summer cottages and in the fields of gardening. Today, such training is not widespread, and the question becomes urgent: when can you study for rights.
There are quite a few issues associated with obtaining the right to drive a vehicle (other than a bicycle). One of them concerns the age at which you can start learning. The law on this topic is quite categorical and quite clearly indicates the stages of learning to drive.
An important role is played by the category of rights that a person wants to receive. The more complicated it is, the more you need to know. So, for example, even a 16-year-old teenager can drive a moped, and only a professional can drive a truck.
When to start learning
As for the theoretical part of training, i.e. rules, solving traffic police issues, etc., there are no restrictions here. You can start at any time when the trainee himself wants to.
There will be no problems with learning the rules. Books listing the main provisions and traffic police tickets are sold in any print kiosks and bookstores. In addition, there are online tickets, which are located on the Internet. And also today a huge number of applications for smartphones and tablets have been created.
If we are talking about learning directly to drive, there will be more restrictions here. So, for example, you can get the right to drive a moped from the age of 16. So far, the category of moped rights is only negotiated in the government, so in practice it is quite problematic to get them.
Traffic police say that early study of traffic rules is useful even for young children. This will help them quickly begin to navigate in space and not break the rules, for example, when crossing the road.
If you are going to drive a motorcycle, the license can be obtained from the age of 18. But to get them, you will have to pass theoretical and practical exams for category A. It should be borne in mind that external training was canceled, so you will have to go to a driving school. Alternatively, you can study at the age of 16, but it will still be possible to get a license only after the age of majority.
Persons who are at least 17 years old are allowed to take the exam for obtaining category B rights, but it will be possible to obtain rights only at 18. Training for category B is possible only in a driving school.
Training and passing exams for categories of greater complexity, i.e. those that allow you to drive trucks and buses can occur at any age from 17 years. True, it will be possible to obtain a license no earlier than the student turns 21. But in order to get a license of category E, you need to have experience driving vehicles of categories B, C, D for at least a year.
Based on this distinction, experts recommend starting training 2-3 months before the trainee should turn 18 (or 16 for those who are going to drive a moped). So you can just have time to come of age and immediately officially start driving a car. Moreover, many driving schools may charge additional tuition fees for too young students, which makes early training economically unprofitable.
When to study: summer or winter
When deciding when to start learning, many people rely not only on age, but also on seasonality. The most popular season is, of course, summer. It is believed that it is easier to study during the warm period, because extra clothes do not interfere, the bright sun cheers up, etc. However, experts assure that there are also disadvantages to summer as a period for learning to drive. Firstly, it is heat, and not all training machines are equipped with air conditioning. In addition, too bright the sun can dazzle in the most unexpected moments. Thirdly, on a dry track it is quite difficult to master such important skills as skid resistance.
The instructors assure that the best seasons are spring and autumn, when you can fully work out different driving skills.
