Installing loudspeakers requires the installer to have experience with power tools and electrical wiring skills. The article presents a generalized method for installing Prology systems, the specific installation details depend on the vehicle used.
It is necessary
- - Prology speaker system with included components, speakers and documentation;
- - tools for sawing or drilling holes for installing speakers.
Instructions
Step 1
When installing the speakers, make sure they are facing towards the listeners. Never point them at the floor. The exception is the rear shelf. It is best if subwoofers are installed in it, as the curvature of the rear window will improve the sound quality. Conversely, installing high-frequency speakers in this place, the sound from them will be absorbed by the roof of the car.
Step 2
The sound quality of mid and tweeters is highly dependent on their directivity. So set them up as high as possible in the cabin and point them towards the audience. Install the speakers on hard surfaces. Installation in acoustic podiums would be ideal. Installing these components into plastic sheathing parts will result in vibration during operation. The severity of this property directly depends on the diameter of the speaker.
Step 3
Use all provided speaker mounting points. Tighten all fasteners carefully. For the best sound quality, place the speaker in a sufficiently large box. In addition, the speaker location should be acoustically isolated from the listeners and not have any unmuffled openings. The tweeters require no isolated space or reinforced panels to install. Install them in any suitable place and point them at the passengers (driver).
Step 4
When installing, do not allow parts of the speakers to come into contact with parts of the vehicle. Don't skimp on laying and wiring your speakers. Try to use only the branded wires supplied with Prology components. Before installation, disconnect the negative wire from the battery and turn off all electricity consumers. Do not unpack the speakers until after installing them. Do not use excessive force on them.
Step 5
Make sure there are no fuel hoses, brake hoses and electrical wiring near the selected speaker location. Carefully cut and drill holes for the speaker installation, making sure there is room under the selected surface. Make sure that the self-tapping screws used do not come out from the back of the panel. Install the high frequency components flush, on or at an angle to a surface.
Step 6
After marking the places where the holes are to be drilled, cut or drill them according to the marking. Install the speaker base into it, secure, connect the wires and insert the speaker itself with a little force until you hear a slight click. To install the low-frequency speakers, use the template supplied to mark the installation site, the supplied metal clips and screws for attaching it, and a decorative grille.
Step 7
Connect the components in strict accordance with the instructions for the Prology speaker system and using the supplied wires. Observe polarity when connecting wires. Protect all connections from moisture and dust by wrapping with an overlap with electrical tape. Please note: each type of speaker has its own connection wires and should not be swapped. When laying wires, provide for their protection from mechanical stress and moisture.
