Replacing lamps is a fairly simple procedure that does not require special knowledge. However, safety depends on the quality of lighting devices when driving in bad weather and at night.
It is necessary
wrench, gloves, piece of cloth (rag)
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that the main light switch is in the off position before starting work. Also, do not forget to disconnect the wire from the negative terminal on the battery. Remember that the Mazda 6 has headlamp units that combine low beam, high beam and a turn signal. After that, open the hood and determine the location of the lamps in the headlight. Remember that the lamp in the center is the high beam, and the one on the edge is the low beam.
Step 2
To replace bulbs in the right headlight, turn the steering wheel to the left side until it stops. After that, unscrew the bolts and remove the dust cover. Turn the sealing cap counterclockwise to remove it, then pull the connector and wires from the lamp towards you. Gently pry off the lamp holder and slide it aside to remove the lamp. After replacement, reinstall in reverse order.
Step 3
Replacing the high beam lamps is carried out in the same way as replacing the low beam. However, here it is necessary to lift the air cleaner housing. Remember that after installing a new lamp, you need to check the reliability of the electrical connector.
Step 4
In order to replace the bulbs in the direction indicators, turn the socket counterclockwise and unscrew it. Then remove the lamp from the socket, to do this, slightly press on it and turn it. Replacing the bulbs in the rear lights is carried out by removing the plastic holders and part of the luggage compartment trim. After that, remove the lamp holder you need and install the new device.
Step 5
To replace the interior lights, wrap a rag or other material around the screwdriver to prevent damage to the upholstery. After that, pick up the cover and remove it. Next, remove the cartridge and change the lamp in it. Remember that in order to avoid premature failure of the lamps, do not hold them by the bulb with your hands, and all operations must be carried out with gloves.
