Step 1
Start repairing the interior with the upholstery. Repair skin scratches, stains, burned spots, frayed areas yourself with the help of repair kits sold at auto dealerships. Damage over large areas of upholstery is difficult to repair yourself. Depending on the degree and area of the damaged areas, overtighten the sheathing completely or contact a specialist.
Step 2
Regardless of whether the interior will be hanged on its own or with the involvement of craftsmen, try to personally participate in the choice of upholstery material. The color, quality and texture of the materials will create a new look for the interior. If the trim of various parts of the cabin is made of different materials, treat each part individually.
Step 3
To repair velor upholstery using the special repair kit, first apply a compound to the base patch that will accurately replicate the coating being repaired. Then apply the patch to the damaged area and heat it with a hairdryer. If all instructions are followed exactly, the defect will disappear completely.
Step 4
When restoring leather upholstery, use formulations called "liquid leather". The repair technology is simple, but it takes a lot of time due to the fact that the composition needs to be applied in several layers. Only a multi-layer coating of the damaged area can you completely mask the defect. To reproduce the texture of the skin, make an impression of the structure of the auto skin with a special gel, and then glue this patch over the repaired area.
Step 5
To restore plastic interior parts, purchase a plasticizer gel. It copes well with all sorts of scratches and chips. To ensure that the grit size of the gel matches the texture of the recovered plastic as closely as possible, consult your dealer. If possible, take the part to be repaired with you to the store. In addition, plasticizer gel can be used to glue cracks on plastic parts. In this case, the quality of restoration work is much higher than when using conventional glue, since the appearance of the part is restored along with gluing.
Step 6
To eliminate numerous scratches and abrasions on large plastic parts, paint the part again. To do this, completely dismantle the part to be repaired, clean it with sandpaper and degrease it. Apply a primer, and after that - a special paint in several layers. Apply each layer after the previous one is completely dry. When finished, cover the element to be restored with varnish.
