Step 1

Place the vehicle on a level surface. It is best to do the dashboard removal procedure in the garage. Apply the parking brake. Switch off the car and remove the key from the ignition. Open the hood and remove the negative terminal of the battery. This will avoid a short circuit in the on-board circuit of the Volga. Open the console lid and take out all the things that lie there. At the bottom you will see the caps of the screws. Take an 8 socket wrench and unscrew them. There are two plastic grilles on the sides of the console that need to be snapped off with a screwdriver.

Step 2

Use a screwdriver to pry the console insert that is attached to the dashboard. Now carefully remove the gear lever cover from the grooves. Unscrew the handle. Slide the plastic catch and remove the cover. Remove the two top screws that hold the insert in the console. After that, the bottom two. Pull the insert out of the console. Inside the console, unscrew the self-tapping screw and two nuts. Inside, find the clips that connect the wires. Disconnect them. Press the console down slightly and remove it.

Step 3

Unscrew the screws that hold the right dashboard stand. Take it out. Remove the right and left front upholstery by unscrewing the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Pry up the cover that hides the fuse box. It is located on the right side of the dashboard. Fastened with four self-tapping screws. Unscrew them, pull the block out of the grooves. Mark the connector blocks and disconnect them. Remove the front pillar covers. Remove the steering column shroud, which is secured with five self-tapping screws at the bottom and one at the top.

Step 4

Disconnect the amplifier that holds the dashboard by unscrewing the two bolts from the bottom with a wrench. Disconnect the block that goes to the ignition switch. Remove the four bolts and lower the steering column onto the driver's seat. Remove the high beam switch. Remove the dashboard trim. To do this, unscrew all the screws that hold it. Carefully remove the plastic bezel and then the dashboard itself. Disconnect all plugs after marking them.
