The Aston Martin Vanquish is not just a fast sports car, but a symbiosis of irrepressible energy and great luxury. It is a true signature style of understated elegance with powerful dynamics.
Aston Martin Vanquish is the legendary supercar of the famous English manufacturer Aston Martin. It is renowned for the fact that each machine is practically a high-quality hand-built and bespoke individuality. One can see in everything the company's striving for the ideal. The engines of these vehicles are assembled in an airless workshop. The design is developed by the best professionals in Europe. And materials for interior decoration are used exclusively natural. Looking a little into the history of the creation of the brand, which appeared in 1904 thanks to Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, you can find out that the very first cars were developed specifically for the needs of professional athletes. They have taken part in various competitions around the world. One of them was Lionel Martin himself, who won the prestigious Aston race in the first car of his Singer-10 brand. This is how the modern name of the company "Aston Martin" appeared.
First generation
In 2001, the Aston was released, created by the famous and talented designer Ian Callum - the legendary flagship sports car Aston Martin Vanquish. It appeared as the successor to the already pretty outdated Aston Martin Virage. The first version of this supercar left the assembly line until 2005. A distinctive feature of the car was the design of the chassis. Due to its rigidity, thanks to the friendly tandem of aluminum and carbon. And the 6-liter V12 power unit with 48 valves with a capacity of 460 horsepower, driven by a 6-band electro-hydraulic transmission, was appreciated by motorists. This "iron horse" was shod with 355 mm ventilated brake discs, in front of which were installed 4 piston calipers. Seeing this handsome man, I want to say "Die, but not now." And yet, sitting behind the wheel of a luxurious sports car, you can feel like a real James Bond.

In 2004, the premium model was presented at the Paris Motor Show. The stylish car received a power unit with a capacity of 520 horsepower and many times improved aerodynamic characteristics. Restyling has undergone not only the filling of the sports car, but also its external data. The "muzzle" of the car was changed, due to which the drag of the car was significantly reduced. The car received a brand new splitter. Also, the wheels are of larger diameter. The concern produced about 1100 pieces of this model. The final completion of this version is the Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate Edition with a body painted in Ultimate Black. This series came out in a quantity of only 50 pieces.
A worthy replacement
In 2012, the second generation car replaced it. This version of the car was presented at the Concorso D'Eleganza at Villa D'Este exhibition. The supercar was distinguished by its high strength (25% stiffer) and lighter weight (13% lighter) due to the use of a large amount of aluminum and carbon fiber. The power unit is equipped with a 5, 9-liter V12 engine with a capacity of 550 horsepower. The car is much wider, longer and lower than the original Vanquish. Due to this, its stability has increased. The appearance has received the corporate character of the concern. The headlights of the sports car clearly resemble those of the Virage model. The rear ones were made similar to the headlights from One 77. Apparently they decided to follow the saying “Everything new is well forgotten old”. But in the end, it should be noted that everything turned out quite interesting. The symbiosis of luxury (the interior is manually upholstered in high quality leather and Alcantra) and practicality made this car recognizable and with its own individual character. Perfectionism is present in every detail of this vehicle. Of particular note is the excellent 1000 watt system. You can drive this renowned sports car with 13 powerful speakers and get a real drive. In 2018, the release of this version was discontinued, and it was replaced by the new sports coupe Aston Martin DBS Superleggera.
A bit of history about the appearance of the abbreviation DB in the model name. Back in 1947, the ruined Aston Martin was bought out by entrepreneur David Brown, who was a longtime Lionel Martin fan and an avid collector of sports cars. It was David Brown who added the famous DB to the names of the models that are still in use.
Improved version
In 2015, an improved supercar series was released. It differs from its predecessors in power and speed, and is rightfully considered its best version in the entire line of this car. Aston Martin Vanquish v12 2015 Cabrio has in its arsenal a 568 horsepower engine, an 8-speed Touchtronic 3 automatic transmission. The supercar accelerates with surprising ease to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.6 seconds. The legendary Aston Martin continues to be considered a racing class car today, just like more than two decades ago. But today, time flies faster than ever, and now this sports car has become more familiar on the streets of metropolitan areas than on the racetrack. Anyone can feel Schumacher now, one has only to get behind the wheel of this powerful sports car. Its cost on the Russian market is about 25 million rubles. But this does not baffle motorists in any way. For each of the company's models, queues line up, stretched out for several months in advance. Well, what Russian doesn't like driving fast?
Interestingly, this car has become a real cinematic hero. In the films Casino Royale (2007) and Quantum of Solace (2008), he again starred as the main vehicle of the legendary James Bond. The sports car also has a merit in individual superiority over such serious competitors as Lamborghini and Ferrari. The release of the Aston Martin V8 eliminated sales of these two models in the United Kingdom to absolute zero throughout 1972. It was a real record for the Aston Martin V8 in the automotive market at the time. It cannot be said that the fate of the company was cloudless. She was shaking at different times very much. But neither the imminent bankruptcy nor the frequent change of ownership affected the production of this luxurious sports car. The owners changed, but the car remained. As if from above someone needed it. It is also surprising that only in 2012 Aston Martin cars rightfully became full-fledged members of the Le Mans racing tournament. This is really a test of strength.
Today the company produces sports cars of the Gran Turismo class and luxury sedans of the Hi End class. The current lineup includes Vanquish, Rapid and DB9. It looks like the hard times are over for the company. Judging by the policy pursued in recent years, there is definitely a groundwork for at least 10-15 years. And it pleases. After all, it is impossible to imagine that the time will come when this wonderful car will cease to be produced for some reason. Therefore, we can sincerely wish the further prosperity of this company and its development for many, many years. They rightfully deserve it.
