Antifreeze is a specialized liquid, the properties of which allow it not to freeze at low temperatures. It should be noted that this is a collective concept based on mixtures of various synthetic substances with water.

Before you independently change the antifreeze that is poured into the car from the manufacturer or in the workshop, you need to find out what kind of coolant (coolant) is needed. Having found out this fact, you can proceed to the main procedure. And in order to properly change the antifreeze, you must adhere to the following sequence:

To begin with, you need to turn on the ignition and raise the level of operation of the device, with the help of which the interior is heated, to the maximum possible.

Find the radiator filler cap and carefully open it.

Place a container under the radiator in order to drain the old antifreeze and open the drain plug from below.

Another plug that needs to be unscrewed is located on the cylinder block.

At the next stage, it is necessary to return to their place the plugs that opened on the block and radiator.

The old antifreeze should also be drained from the expansion barrel.

Next, you need to pour antifreeze into the radiator, while it is required to periodically close its lid and “massage” the upper pipe, which will displace the air remaining in the unit and pour more coolant.

The next step is to start the engine and let it warm up to operating temperatures.

Warm air must flow out of the heater during the test. The absence of the latter indicates the presence of an air lock, which can lead to overheating of the engine.

In order to set the level of antifreeze in the radiator and expansion tank, it is necessary to allow the engine to cool down, which helps to reduce the pressure in the cooling system.
