In a diesel engine, fuel is ignited by heating up from the pressure build-up. Ignition refers to the process of setting the injection advance angle, on which the coordinated work of all engine cylinders depends.

- - metal rod with a diameter of 10 mm, a length of 30-40 cm.

Step 1
Diesel engine fuel equipment components are high precision instruments. The installation of a V-type injection pump (high pressure fuel pump) on Kamaz requires the correct determination of the angle of the moment of injection of diesel fuel into the working cylinder of the car. Remember that even a deviation of one degree can lead to failure of the power unit and its subsequent overhaul.
Step 2
Start adjusting the ignition on Kamaz, using the technology of mounting the fuel pump with the synchronous setting of the injection torque angle. Raise the vehicle cab and secure it to the support leg. Rotate it ninety degrees and fix the mechanical device stem in the special slot on the flywheel guard, located on the left side of the machine engine.
Step 3
Using a 17mm wrench, unscrew the two bolts on the flywheel housing at the bottom of the machine and remove the mudguard. Insert a tapered metal rod through the slot in the casing into the hole in the flywheel. Using the lever, rotate the engine crankshaft from left to right until the retainer rod at the top completely blocks its further movement.
Step 4
Check the position of the fuel pump drive clutch in the camber of the engine block. If it is turned with the setting scale up, align the notch on the injection pump flange with the zero mark on the drive and tighten the two mounting bolts. Otherwise, repeat the steps by lifting the stopper and turning the engine crankshaft one revolution.
Step 5
Lift the flywheel stopper up, rotate it ninety degrees and insert it into the groove. Install the dust shield on the bottom of the flywheel housing. Lower the Kamaz cab and put its catches in the upper position.
