The car engine must be washed after every oil filling. But it never hurts to wash it for no apparent reason, because a clean engine heats up longer and looks better.
It is necessary
Polyethylene, special engine cleaning spray, large volume of water, compressed air canister, microfiber sponge
Instructions
Step 1
To get started, remove the battery from the car and cover with polyethylene all places where moisture should not get (wires, electrical appliances, sensors, etc.).
Step 2
Next, make sure the engine is completely cool. If you start washing a hot engine, there is a threat of water hammer, which can damage the unit. Apply cleaning spray and let sit for a few minutes.
Step 3
After that, wipe all engine parts with a special sponge (preferably Microfiber). You can reapply the aerosol to especially dirty places. Do not leave dirty areas.
Step 4
Next, thoroughly rinse the surface of the engine with plenty of clean water, making sure that no water gets inside the unit.
Step 5
Then dry the engine well with compressed air. You can also let the engine dry naturally, but this will take much longer.
Step 6
After you have made sure that the engine is completely dry, you can remove the plastic, put the battery and try to start the car. If you've done everything right and no water gets on vital parts of the car, it should start easily. If this does not happen, give the engine some more time to dry (it is possible that water, despite all your precautions, still got inside).
