As you know, inside a car there are five times more harmful substances than outside. In order to reduce their number, manufacturers from the beginning of the 90s began to supply the ventilation system of the machine with filters that not only protected human health, but also did not let harmful substances into air conditioners and heating radiators. But in order for them to cope well with their direct functions, the cabin filters must be changed in time, and for this you need to learn how to remove them.
Necessary
- - Phillips head screwdriver;
- - flat head screwdriver;
- - screwdriver with TORX20 head.
Instructions
Step 1
The frequency of replacing the cabin filter depends on its type and the mileage of the vehicle. Paper filters must be changed every 15-30 thousand kilometers of track, coal filters - 100 thousand, and multilayer filters - 60 thousand. Removing the cabin filter is easy, so you can do all the work yourself.
Step 2
Pry off the two screw caps on the frill located in the area of the small wiper blade. To do this, use a flat head screwdriver. Then unscrew the screws with a topx20 screwdriver.
Step 3
Now unscrew the third self-tapping screw located in the area where the eyeliner of the wiper blade is attached. You will find two more self-tapping screws that need to be unscrewed under the hood of the car.
Step 4
When you remove the frill, do not make great efforts so as not to break anything. Besides, it is quite easy to remove it.
Step 5
After the frill is in your hands, you can start removing the protective casing. It prevents large debris from entering the cabin filter. To remove the shroud, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the three self-tapping screws. Two of them can be found in the place where the casing is attached to the body, and the third is the washer fluid supply pipes. Then remove the cover. Be careful not to damage it.
Step 6
After removing the cover, you can easily remove the cabin filter for replacement. Install the new filter in reverse order. At the same time, try to spread the plastic "skirt" of the casing well so that it does not interfere with the cabin filter to work with full efficiency.
