The digital speedometer shows the vehicle's speed as well as its mileage. This device can be installed in a car with a standard analog speedometer, which is controlled by electrical impulses from speed sensors.

Necessary

  • - personal computer with Internet access;
  • - Printer;
  • - photographic paper;
  • - one-sided foil fiberglass;
  • - iron;
  • - acetone;
  • - water;
  • - ferric chloride;
  • - brush;
  • - flux;
  • - soldering iron;
  • - micro drill;
  • - scissors for metal;
  • - radio components;
  • - frame;
  • - display.

Instructions

Step 1

Download the digital speedometer diagram from the Internet. After that, print it on the printer, setting the maximum print quality in the settings. Use photo paper for printing.

Step 2

Preheat your iron. Degrease the surface of the foil-clad fiberglass. Then turn the printed sheet over with a pattern to the fiberglass and carefully, without moving the sheet, iron it.

Step 3

After ironing a little, remove the iron and stop literally for a minute, and then again apply the iron with pressure over the entire surface of the paper. As soon as the photo paper starts to turn yellow (yellowing is caused by high temperatures), stop ironing and wait until the fiberglass cools down.

Step 4

When the fiberglass cools down, place it together with the paper in water, the temperature of which should be 25-30 degrees, and leave for an hour. After an hour, try to gently remove the paper (note: the toner should end up on the fiberglass). If you did not succeed in making the board on the first try, iron the drawing on another piece of fiberglass and soak it in water.

Step 5

Dissolve ferric chloride in water and place a board in this solution. To speed up the etching of the board, periodically wipe its surface with a soft brush. The etching procedure will take literally thirty minutes.

Step 6

After the copper dissolves in unprotected places, remove the ferric chloride workpiece and rinse it in running water. Then wash off the toner with acetone. After that, apply the flux with a brush and start serving the board.

Step 7

Rinse off the flux with acetone and drill holes for the radio parts on the board using a micro drill. Then use a metal scissors to cut out the circuit boards. After that, proceed to soldering the parts.

Step 8

Finally, put the boards together, place them in the case and attach the display. After you assemble the device, install it on the car.
