The radio tape recorder is the device without which the car becomes boring and mundane. Often, head units leave much to be desired, or they are absent at all in basic configurations. Any new radio tape recorder must be carefully checked.
Instructions
Step 1
Check the radio illumination. To do this, turn the ignition key to the ACC ON position. After that, turn on the low beam and directly the radio tape recorder itself. Now take a close look to see if all the buttons that should be highlighted. If you notice a malfunction, then check the connector responsible for the backlight, or open the instructions and replace it.
Step 2
Before turning on the ignition, press the radio start button, check if it works. Then unplug it and repeat the operation again. Now start the engine and repeat the procedure. If the device is inoperative, check the integrity of the fuses and the reliability of the connection of the connectors.
Step 3
Turn on the radio and check how the volume knob works a few times. To do this, turn up and down the volume. If any defects are found, replace the radio. Check the functionality of all buttons by following the instructions.
Step 4
Check to see if the CD is read. To do this, insert the original music disc into the corresponding slot. Examine it carefully for scratches, scuffs - all this can cause the radio tape recorder to be unable to play the disc. Remember that CD reading may slow down a little during cold seasons, which is normal. Insert a disc, wait for playback, remove it and repeat the procedure with the engine running.
Step 5
If the radio has a USB connector, then it must also be checked. Take the USB flash drive that contains the music and insert it into the appropriate slot. First check the performance of the carrier at home. In the radio, switch the search buttons forward and backward. If you find defects, then do not rush to change the radio, first check the wiring that goes from the radio to the USB connector.
