What troubles do not lie in wait for drivers while driving on the roads. As statistics show, most accidents happen during traffic jams on city streets. The most common road traffic accidents in these conditions are car collisions, which often damage bumpers on cars.
Necessary
epoxy adhesive
Instructions
Step 1
Due to the fact that polymer materials are widely used in the manufacture of modern bumpers, in the event of an accident, the question arises about the possibility of repairing plastic body parts.
Step 2
Epoxy glue is used to repair bumpers made of plastic. Therefore, in preparation for the upcoming bumper repair, it is necessary to purchase an epoxy-based repair kit from a car dealer. The complete set of the repair kit also includes fiberglass.
Step 3
Epoxy adhesive - two-component. It contains a hardener, which must be thoroughly mixed in a certain proportion before use (see instructions on the package). Fiberglass is impregnated with ready-to-use glue, which is glued from the inside to the damaged areas of the bumper.
Step 4
In cases where it is necessary to strengthen the parts to be glued, a metal mesh is glued to the inner surface of the bumper, which is covered with glass cloth impregnated with epoxy glue on top.
Step 5
Drying, or rather, polymerization of epoxy glue occurs within a day. After the specified period, the final processing of the glued surfaces is carried out: grinding, painting, polishing.
