The service life of any part that is part of the general vehicle configuration is designed for a certain period of operation. And after a lapse of time, or overcoming the mileage traveled, the part must fail, having served its due date, and sometimes even earlier.
Necessary
- - wrench for the front engine ratchet,
- - a set of locksmith tools,
- - wooden drift,
- - a hammer,
- - a new oil seal.
Instructions
Step 1
Oil leakage from under the oil seal of the front crankshaft pulley indicates its malfunction and, in order to prevent engine breakdown, which is inevitable in the event of a decrease in the engine oil level, the defective seal must be replaced as soon as possible.
Step 2
To eliminate the malfunction that has arisen in order to facilitate access to the oil seal, antifreeze is drained from the machine, the decorative grille and the radiator of the engine cooling system itself are dismantled, then the ratchet is unscrewed and the front pulley is removed (do not forget to remove the alternator belt before this).
Step 3
After removing the worn out part, a new oil seal is installed instead, which is upset on the seat with a hammer through a wooden extension. After verifying that the new part installation procedure is successful, install the front pulley on the engine crankshaft, aligning the slot in the pulley hub with the crankshaft keyway.
Step 4
All further steps for assembling the motor are performed in reverse order.
