The car theft statistics are steadily increasing. And it is more and more difficult for police officers to cope with numerous "hang-ups" for theft. In recent years, a large number of sites have appeared on the Internet promising assistance in finding and ransoming a stolen car. However, do not rush to pay or trust your money to the first resource that comes across.
Instructions
Step 1
Report a car theft to the police. If no more than 30 minutes have passed since the car was stolen, the police will announce an Intercept plan, and your chances of finding your car in hot pursuit will increase.
Step 2
If the car is not found, ask the police for a copy of the vehicle orientation and reproduce it in a circulation of several hundred copies. Pass some of these original leaflets to your friends, relatives and acquaintances so that they, too, can distribute them around the city, if possible.
Step 3
Even if you do not live in Russia, but in one of the CIS countries, be sure to visit the Avtohgon-info website and place an ad about the stolen car in the RUBON database. This site was created with the support of the Moscow City Department of Internal Affairs. In addition, you can call the hotline (495) 233-12-03 and report the theft. This will give you an extra chance to find the vehicle.
Step 4
If you want to assign a reward for your car, write about it in a separate application, which will also be placed in the RUBON database. Do not worry: people who want to contact this site with the information about the car you are interested in will have all contact details carefully checked. If the car is found, the employees of "Avtojon-info" will take for services no more than 1-3% of the value of your car, which is much better than the 30-50% usually extorted by fraudsters.
Step 5
Be as careful as possible and do not trust scammers who are more likely to call the phones you indicated in the orientation with an offer to buy a car. If the scammers have made an appointment for you, inform the police officers so that they can detain them. However, most often it happens that the accomplices of the hijackers or even third parties make an appointment to intimidate the client even more and offer him to put money in a nearby ATM and, naturally, no car is returned.
