In every car, the panel is one of the most important interior details. It is on it that the buttons and control levers for climate control, light, alarm and other auto systems are located. There are times when the panel needs to be replaced with preliminary disassembly.
Necessary
- - screwdrivers;
- - set of wrenches;
- - cotton gloves.
Instructions
Step 1
Put the car in the garage. Be sure to engage the parking brake and shift the transmission lever to neutral. Open the front doors and move the front seats back as far as possible. Remove all items from the glove compartment. Pull the ashtray out of the connector (applies to those VAZ models in which the ashtray is located in the dashboard).
Step 2
Remove the trim, trim rings of the air duct openings. Carefully remove the air duct grilles. Remove all stove control levers. Detach the steering wheel cover. How correctly it is attached to the plastic clips. If your car has a driver's airbag, then carefully remove it by disconnecting the igniter (applies to the Priora, Kalina and Grant models). Remove the stud and unscrew the nut holding the steering wheel. Disconnect the steering column switches.
Step 3
Find the location of all screws. fastening the panel body to the car body. Unscrew them carefully and number them so as not to be confused when reassembling, as the screws can have different lengths and widths. If the self-tapping screw began to turn tightly, then you should not try to unscrew it by force. This can break the thread. Make a couple of turns in the opposite direction and continue to unscrew the bolt further.
Step 4
Remove the panel from the mounts by grasping the edges. Pull gently towards you and pull it out about five centimeters. In no case should you jerk the torpedo sharply. Otherwise, you will break the wiring connected to the dashboard from the back. Disconnect all air tubing. Label all wiring and carefully disconnect the terminal blocks.
Step 5
Remove the dashboard completely from the mountings and take it out of the car through the right door. To completely disassemble the panel, remove the dashboard and glove compartment. Assemble in the reverse order.
