Skid is the slipping of the wheels of one of the axles of the car, resulting from uneven adhesion of the tires to the road. It can occur as a result of sudden braking, acceleration or a change in the direction of the vehicle. It can skid on a slippery track and for other reasons causing unequal coefficient of wheel adhesion to the road surface.
Instructions
Step 1
If the skid occurred as a result of your wrong actions - stop what caused it - braking, increasing speed, turning the steering wheel.
Do not under any circumstances "hit the brakes" and do not engage in neutral gear.
Step 2
On a rear wheel drive vehicle, reduce throttle to low. In this case, the drive wheels must not be blocked.
On a front wheel drive car, increase the throttle to medium. Avoid wheel slip.
Step 3
Turn the steering wheel quickly towards the rear wheels skidding. Try to keep the direction of travel.
If the skid starts in a different direction, turn the steering wheel towards the new skid.
The steering movements should be quick, but not abrupt. Begin to turn the steering wheel back until the skid stops and the car is leveled.
