Headlamp glass polishing can save you the money you would have spent buying a new headlight or glass. However, this procedure is only effective in the presence of minor damage to the surface.

Abrasives of various grains, polishing polish for lapping, a clean polishing cloth, masking tape or other devices to protect adjacent surfaces from contamination

Step 1
Before starting work, stock up on the necessary tools.
Step 2
After that, thoroughly wash the headlights, the glass of which will be polished. Wait a while to allow the surfaces to dry or dry them yourself with an ordinary hair dryer. Remove parts that will interfere with further work. For example, a radiator grill, a turn signal. Paste over all areas that are directly adjacent to the headlamp.

The first sanding should be done with a 600 grit disc. Remember to wet the abrasive disc first, this will improve the quality of the work and leave dirt inside. Grinding with special devices takes a few minutes, and manual grinding takes about two to three times longer.
Step 4
Examine the surface of the headlamp carefully - it should be evenly matte. Then rinse the headlight with water and pick up a 1000-grit circle. Repeat the same circular motion for a few minutes, then change the circle to 2000 and then to 4000. With each of them carry out the same operation.
Step 5
To understand that you have achieved the desired result, the surface of the headlight will help, which by the time the work is completed should become almost transparent. The last step will be the application of polish for finishing. Apply the product to a clean rag and buff the headlight by hand. At the end of the work, collect the material and do not forget to peel off the adhesive tape from the body parts. Also attach the parts that were removed for ease of procedure. Remember that polishing will increase the illumination by almost 50%.
