Most of the technology that surrounds us is made of metal. The same goes for cars with iron bodies. So it is not uncommon for rust to appear on the hood, fender or roof, which spoils the appearance of the car. Getting rid of it is easy. It is enough just to put a little skill and diligence.
Instructions
Step 1
Most motorists are faced with rust, which appears in different parts of the body. Most often this is due to dampness and salts, which corrode the iron. If you want to save your vehicle from such a misfortune, but do not want to give up a lot of money for it, try to patch up the rust at home.
Step 2
First, place a jack under the car and remove the wheels. Inspect the body for rust and assess the damage it has done. You may still have to contact a master, replace some parts, etc.
Step 3
If you think you can do it yourself, use a grinder or rigid drill. Remove paint from where rust is visible. Do this until bare metal appears.
Step 4
In the third step, carefully and gently sand the surface of the car where you removed the paint. Again, you need to work very hard to get rid of the rust.
Step 5
Now get your car ready for painting. To do this, cover with newspapers those places that will not be subjected to this procedure. Rinse the sanded area thoroughly again with soap and water and treat with 400-sandpaper. Also purchase paint from the store that matches the color of your car. Don't forget to grab a primer. In most cases, you can find instructions for using this product on cans of paint.
Step 6
Before painting the car, carefully prime the surface. After that, take a can and spray the paint in a thin layer on the desired places. Take a break from time to time, during which the previous layer should dry. Then apply paint again. Do this until you achieve the desired color. Most likely the paint will be different. But do not be upset, because a bright spot is better than rust.
