All motorists, of course, take care of their car and strive to make it the most attractive, comfortable and convenient. The steering wheel is one of the parts of the car that is of particular importance to drivers, as a comfortable steering wheel affects the quality of control.
Necessary
leather, steering wheel, graph paper, cling film, molar tape, glue, threads
Instructions
Step 1
To overtighten the steering wheel with leather means to make it more beautiful and convenient to use. Specialists will complete this task efficiently and very quickly (but for a certain monetary reward). You can do the hauling yourself, only you need a little more time and patience.
Step 2
First, decide on the color and texture of the leather that you want to see on the steering wheel. Remember that leather should not be clothing or furniture, but exclusively for automobiles, as it is more durable, reliable and resistant to abrasion. So an old coat will not work for these purposes.
Step 3
Be careful when taking measurements from the steering wheel. Approach this issue with all responsibility and without rushing, otherwise all the work done further may be in vain because of a couple of millimeters. Also keep in mind that darker leather will be more practical to use.
Step 4
Use one of two options: first, take measurements from the steering wheel and spokes, immediately making a pattern either on graph paper or directly on the skin itself. The second option is to wrap the steering wheel, having removed the horn in advance, with cling film, and on top with masking tape, drawing on the scotch tape the alleged lines of the seams.
Step 5
It is most convenient to sew a banner not in one continuous piece, but by dividing it into several parts, which should be numbered on scotch tape. Follow the directions as described, and then carefully cut the tape along the lines you have drawn. This will be the finished layout (pattern).
Step 6
Place the leather on the pattern and cut the same segments out of the leather (but two millimeters less since the leather should be tight on the handlebars). Slip the resulting parts of the constriction onto the handlebars and sew them using either a sports stitch, a braid stitch, or macrame. Use glue in the place where the horn is installed.
