Sometimes headlights on are not a guarantee of good illumination and safety on the road. This is due to the fact that a plaque or a kind of film forms on them, which cannot be cleaned from the outside.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the necessary tools for the job. You will need a heat gun or hair dryer, screwdrivers of different sizes, a wrench and chrome wrap. Then carefully remove the bumper with a screwdriver and key. This is necessary to disconnect the headlights.
Step 2
Look into the space between the wheel and the body, there you will see bolts in front of each wheel well, which you carefully remove. Also unscrew the bolts in front of the front of the housing. Open the hood and look inside it, there are rivets that attach the bumper to the car. Flip them off and remove the bumper.
Step 3
Remove the headlight by unscrewing the mounting bolts. Headlights are removed differently for each car. Carefully read your vehicle's manual and proceed with this operation.
Step 4
Pick up a hair dryer and use it to warm up the silicone that holds the lens to the back of the headlight. When it is soft enough, use a screwdriver to pick up the headlight and disconnect it. Do this very carefully so as not to damage the chrome finish. After removing the lens, keep heating the silicone to remove as much of it as possible. Use a silicone remover.
Step 5
Remove the protective cap from the lamp and the reflector. Thoroughly wash and wipe the headlamp on all sides, ensuring that the surface is transparent. Apply new silicone to the back, where the old one was. Apply the lens and gently press it into the silicone. Install the headlight and bumper in reverse order.
Step 6
If there is no time for such a serious operation, then remove the headlight, fill it with a mixture of water and a cleaning agent, preferably one that washes away grease and other dirt well. Shake gently and drain the liquid. Repeat this procedure if necessary. Then dry the headlamp thoroughly with a hair dryer and reinstall.
