The market for cars bought by our compatriots abroad is becoming wider. It all started modestly, with Germany and Lithuania, then distant America and Japan joined, eventually Poland was included in this list. Indeed, given that there are good roads in Poland, used cars come from there in a better condition, and it’s not so far to get there. However, driving a car from Poland can be more difficult than, for example, from the same Germany.

Instructions

Step 1

First, get yourself an international license, a Schengen visa and a bank card.

Step 2

When choosing a car, keep in mind that it makes no sense to buy a new car in Poland, since after all customs and other duties and taxes have been paid, the car will become much more expensive than the same one bought in Russia. Therefore, pay attention to the used car market.

Step 3

Start looking for a car through Belarusian and international specialized sites. To make it easier, in the search box, type a keyword in Polish, for example, samochodycie (cars) or dostawcze (suppliers).

Step 4

When you find a car that meets all your wishes and criteria, contact the seller. Remember that the seller may not know any other languages besides Polish. Considering this circumstance, try to prepare, for example, you can use a computer translator or dictionary.

Step 5

If you managed to conduct intelligible negotiations with the car seller and if you are going to drive the car yourself, make an appointment and go to Poland. You can use the services of a ferryman who will drive your car to the border, and then you will get behind the wheel yourself.

Step 6

After applying for a Schengen visa, plan your route. Poland is not that far, the route will be quite simple. If time permits, you can combine the purchase of an apartment with a little rest, visit Krakow or Warsaw.

Step 7

When buying a car on the market, car registration is done right there, literally on the hood of the car. They won't give you any certificates or invoices. If the car is brought to Poland from Germany, most likely, the banks of the deed will be in German, without translation into Russian. The seller will fill in the bill of sale himself on behalf of its German owner, the last one entered with the German registration certificate and will sign it himself. Pay attention to the registration numbers of the car: most likely, they will be transit German ones, with a red stripe on one side and their validity period will also be indicated there. This deadline cannot be violated for a single day. If you see a yellow stripe on the license plate, under no circumstances should you buy it. Only Germans can drive it. And even more so, you cannot take a car with permanent German numbers - you cannot deregister it through the embassy in Moscow.

Step 8

Car insurance is compulsory in Poland. If the seller has not provided a "green card", immediately insure the purchase in a Polish company.

Step 9

You can cross the border at three points: Brest, Grodno and Domachevo. Make sure to follow all local safety regulations and also get a decent fire extinguisher, as the Polish police often make a problem with cheap fire extinguishers.

Step 10

When you bring your car to Russia, register it with the traffic police.
