During the operation of almost any car, situations arise when the speedometer readings need to be adjusted. In this case, drivers resort to winding (winding) the speedometer.
Instructions
Step 1
If a mechanical speedometer is installed on a UAZ vehicle, the sequence of actions is as follows: Disconnect the speedometer cable from the PP box, for which unscrew the cable securing nut from the drive to the gearbox and pull. If the nut does not come off, turn it carefully with the pliers.
Step 2
Connect a reversible electric drill to the speedometer cable through the rubber adapter. Put one end of the rubber adapter on the cable end, and clamp the other into the drill chuck.
Step 3
Plug the drill into a power outlet. When using a cordless screwdriver, simply select the direction of rotation and switch on the tool.
Step 4
Observe the speedometer while the drill is on. Get the speedometer reading you want.
Step 5
Disconnect the cable from the power tool, insert the cable end into the gearbox gearbox and tighten the cable retaining nut.
Step 6
If the UAZ car is equipped with an electronic speedometer (odometer), perform the following operations: Remove the instrument panel. Disconnect the speedometer from the instrument panel.
Step 7
Remove the fixing bracket for fastening the electric motor of the speedometer. Pull out the motor.
Step 8
Use a screwdriver to turn the speedometer gears in the direction decreasing the counter reading. When the required readings are reached, reinstall the motor.
Step 9
Secure the motor with a bracket. Connect the speedometer to the instrument panel. Install the instrument panel in its place, secure.
Step 10
If you do not want to mess around yourself, then drive the car to the service station, where all these works will be performed by qualified specialists for a reasonable fee. It is recommended to correct the electronic speedometer only with the assistance of specialists!
