The technical regulations for the next maintenance, after driving a car of 10,000 kilometers, provide for checking the contacts of the breaker-distributor, as well as the subsequent adjustment of the engine ignition system.
It is necessary
- Screwdriver,
- 13 mm spanner,
- set of probes,
- control light.
Instructions
Step 1
To comply with these requirements, on a muffled engine, freeing it from the fastening, the distributor cover is removed along with the high-voltage wires.
Step 2
Further, turning the crankshaft, its position is set in which the breaker contacts will be completely open. And in this position, by loosening the fixed contact fastening screw, the lower, eccentric screw sets the gap between the contacts with a feeler gauge, equal to 0.35 - 0.4 mm.
Step 3
Then the fixed contact fixing screw is tightened, but after that, the gap between the breaker contacts must be checked again. If a discrepancy is found, the gap adjustment must be repeated.
Step 4
In the second stage, the ignition timing is set. To complete this procedure, you must:
- set the crankshaft to the TDC position (see marks on the front engine pulley), focusing on the position of the distributor, which should indicate the high-voltage wire of the first cylinder;
- loosen the nut securing the fork fixing the position of the distributor breaker;
connect the test lamp with one end to the positive terminal of the breaker, and the other to the engine ground in any convenient place;
- turn the distributor-distributor against the stroke, turn on the ignition (while the control lamp must be extinguished), turn the body of the device until the control lamp comes on.
Step 5
It is at the moment the control light comes on that it is necessary to securely fix the position of the breaker-distributor by tightening the nut on the plug of its fastening. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.
