Idling is a special mode of operation of the engine while the vehicle is stationary. It turns on only after the "start" and "warm-up" modes. Its main function is to adjust the composition of the combustible mixture in order to reduce the toxicity of exhaust gases to a minimum.

Step 1
Before you start adjusting the engine at idle, it must be warmed up to an operating temperature of 60 to 800 ° C, for which you need to drive a car for about 5-6 kilometers, otherwise the oil will not heat up to operating temperature. Then you can start preparing the carburetor.
Step 2
If it has a solenoid valve, then check its performance by removing and replacing the connector with the ignition on. Be sure to check that the jet is not clogged.
Step 3
In addition, check that the valve is closed, the air damper is open to the limit, and there is no vacuum in the vacuum tube. Finally, check and, if necessary, adjust the throttle valve to the desired position. Start the idle speed adjustment by unscrewing the “quality” screw by 2-3 turns from the extreme state. In this case, the “quantity” screw should not be tightened to failure.
Step 4
Start and warm up the engine. After warming up, remove the suction, and in the case when the engine starts to stall or work at a reduced speed, increase the speed using the "quantity" screw.
Step 5
Set the speed at about 900 rpm and start adjusting the "quality" of the engine with the screw, ensuring its stable operation. The main goal is to establish the optimal operating mode of the engine, in which the fuel mixture contains the minimum amount of CO. After this adjustment, the engine speed should change. For reliability, repeat all of the above adjustments 2-3 times. It remains to be seen how effective the adjustment was.
Step 6
Remove power from the solenoid valve or vacuum hose and if the engine stalls, then you did everything right. Look at the position of the return spring and at the "throttle" actuator. Then release the gas pedal and make sure that the throttle valve is returned to its original position.
