It is necessary

  • - wall;
  • - marker;
  • - roulette.

Instructions

Step 1

If there is no car service nearby with headlight adjustment equipment or you want to save money on repairs, you can adjust the light yourself. First of all, check the car's suspension, the condition of the springs. Evaluate tire pressures, eliminate differences in tire sizes - each of these factors can significantly affect the direction of headlights.

Step 2

Before the procedure, load the driver's seat with ballast weighing 70-80 kg, fill the car's tank.

Step 3

Check the condition of the lights in the headlights. Darkened or flickering lamps should be replaced immediately.

Step 4

Choose a flat, light vertical wall to adjust your headlights. If possible, stretch the screen on it. The area in front of the working wall should be at least 7-10 meters in area.

Step 5

To correctly adjust the flow of light, place the car against the wall with the headlights, mark the center of the car with a marker on the surface of the screen, highlight the center axis of each headlight. Now you can drive back 7, 5 meters from the wall. Use a tape measure for accuracy. On the wall with a straight horizontal line, connect the marks of the centers of the headlights and draw two vertical lines through them.

Step 6

Step back 7, 5 cm from the drawn horizontal line, draw another line strictly parallel to the top one.

Step 7

Turn on the low beam. Close the left headlight and the adjusting screws that move the reflector in all directions (horizontally and vertically), adjust the right headlamp so that the upper edge of the beam is aligned with the lower line on the wall, and the top of the corner in the light spot falls into the vertical line, passing through the center of the headlight.

Step 8

Close the right headlight of the car. Adjust the left headlight in the same way as the right.
